Machinery Magazine feature

H V Wooding are pleased to feature in this months Machinery Magazine. The 3 page article, written by Justin Burns, interviews our Business Development Director Paul Allen.

In the article, Paul answers questions on our business performance amid the ongoing Covid pandemic (including our work on The Ventilator Challenge) and post Brexit performance.

Paul also discusses our core sectors, the growing electrification sector (our fastest growing area of business), our large number of investments (including a new Trumph 3030 Laser and Bruderer Press), and market challenges facing UK manufacturers.  Paul speaks of  our success in reshoring projects formerly outsourced to BRICS economies and our own in house buffer management system. These include projects for fire protection components for sprinklers and some very small motor drives for the medical sector. Benefits of improved lead times, design assistance, low quantity allowances for prototypes are all citied as reasons for our success.

“We have a turnover circa £10m in 2020 /2021 and this financial year I expert it to be around £11m. 30% of this is exports”

“The biggest challenge is raw materials (copper and steel), the price, lead time and availability are being pushed out”.
