System Support Engineer

Company Expectations
The IT Department is focused on developing, maintaining, and optimising IT solutions within the business, enhancing and allowing growth through efficient processes and data management. The Department works closely with other areas of the business to ensure systems being implemented are appropriate and fit for the intended purpose. Knowledge and understanding of IT systems is crucial to ensure uptime and minimise IT-related problems. The ideal person for this role will have a passion for IT, and a willingness to learn in an active business environment.
Job Purposes
The System Support Engineer is expected to assist in keeping systems running smoothly and effectively. Mainly an IT Support-type role, the primary focus is to ensure other departments can use their systems without issue. This will involve correcting problems with both hardware and software as they arise, fact-finding when problems are raised, and assessing systems to find areas of inefficiency, inaccuracy, and vulnerability.
This role will extend to include development work, mainly in C# and SQL. Development work ranges from fixes in existing software, to full blown project work, and even report generation with SQL.
Key Skills and Experience
Essential
- High attention to detail and strong problem solving skills
- Good organizational skills with ability to prioritise
- Good written communication and leadership skills
- Knowledge of Microsoft systems, such as Office, 365, Active Directory, and Windows (10/11/Server)
Preferable
- IT Support experience – Software/Windows installation, troubleshooting
- Network Management – Cabling, firewalls, VLANS and Routing, Wireless
- Server Management – VMWare, Windows Server, Virtualisation
- Programming experience – ideally C#, .NET, and ASP WebForms/WinForms
- Database experience – SQL Server, Data interrogation, reporting
- Job Management – Ticketing systems
Key Responsibilities
- Performing IT administrative tasks on clients, servers, and infrastructure
- Commissioning new users, including their computers, and getting them set up ready to work
- Troubleshooting issues with both end users and infrastructure components
- Participate in Research and Development of new systems being designed
- Generating documentation for existing and new systems across the company
- Providing support for end users of all departments
- Assessing issues, both current and potential, and proactively implementing or suggesting corrections
- Recommending purchases to enhance the IT department and the rest of the business
- All Health and Safety procedures are complied with
- All company procedures are complied with
- The environmental impact of all activities is minimised
- All business objectives and targets are achieved
- Carry out other duties as required by the business
- Developing and implementing solutions, using primarily C# and .NET, to fit the needs of users
- Producing reports from SQL with a high level of accuracy

Estimating and planning Engineer

The role:
The role (Estimating and Planning Engineer) is spread over 2 departments (Technical and Sales).
The Estimating role will include:
- Preparing customer quotations for the manufacture of engineering component
- To ensure quotations are priced in line with company gross profit targets.
- Ensure all quotations are provided to agreed customer deadlines.
The planning role will include:
- To plan all new parts in a timely fashion to enable operations to manufacture work within the agreed time frames, this will include run rates, bill of materials and manufacturing routing.
- Development of components and creating manufacturing DXFs for different processes.
- To use 3D CAD to design and produce technical drawings

Toolmaker

Established for 57 years, HV Wooding Limited is a highly successful manufacturing business providing a sub-contract component and assembly service to Industry. Our core competencies are Presswork, Busbar manufacture, Laser Cutting, CNC Wire Erosion and CNC Machining, working with industry leaders in sectors such as data cabinets, electric and hybrid vehicles, electrical switchgear, energy storage, renewable energy, medical, aerospace and science research.
We currently have a position for a Toolmaker. In this role, you are responsible for the repair and modification of tooling. You need to ensure that all work carried out is of good quality and meets the needs of both design and production in its functionality. The Tool Maker will also be required to assist in the continuous improvement of tooling by means of experience and knowledge gained from the history of past problems and tool repairs. The Tool Maker must ensure that all work schedules and work completed are done in order to satisfy customer demands whilst enabling the delivery of high-quality components.
This role requires someone who enjoys working with people and is self-motivated with a friendly and flexible approach. Previous experience of working in a toolroom environment, with the ability to read engineering drawings and the use of typical toolroom equipment is essential.
