GOODS IN STORES / STOCK CONTROLLER

H V Wooding is a well-established, industry-leading UK sub-contract manufacturer based in Hythe, Kent. We have over 50 years of experience in the production of high-specification components, including copper & aluminium busbars, switchgear, core packs & motor laminations

We are seeking a Goods Inwards Stores/Stock Controller to commence as soon as possible.

The main duties will include –

  • Ensuring accurate receipts of sub-contracted orders and general consumables.
  • Distribution of purchased items within the business.
  • Help to maintain accurate stock levels of work in progress and bought-in components.
  • Assisting Production cells in maintaining accurate stock records.
  • To assist in Despatch of finished goods as and when required
  • To cover for raw material stores during holiday periods.

You will need to have –

  • Good organisational and problem-solving skills.
  • Good level of computer literacy, previous use of computer-based stock control systems
  • Attention to detail and adaptable to changing situations
  • Have a methodical & flexible approach to your work.
  • Good level of communication skills, approachable and open to learning
  • A full driving licence

Previous experience in a similar role is beneficial, including forklift and side loader operation, although full training will be given to the right applicant.

Benefits

  • You will receive a competitive salary, starting at £25,000 pa, reviewed after your probation period, and friendly working conditions in a well-established family-run company. On-site parking is free, and we are close to regular bus routes through Hythe.
  • We offer a quarterly performance bonus, a contributory pension scheme and holiday entitlement that increases with your length of service.
  • Standard working week of 39 hours, with a 1 pm finish every Friday.

TOOLMAKER

Established for 57 years, HV Wooding Limited is a highly successful manufacturing business providing a sub-contract component and assembly service to Industry. Our core competencies are Presswork, Busbar manufacture, Laser Cutting, CNC Wire Erosion and CNC Machining, working with industry leaders in sectors such as data cabinets, electric and hybrid vehicles, electrical switchgear, energy storage, renewable energy, medical, aerospace and science research.

We currently have a position for a Toolmaker. In this role, you are responsible for the repair and modification of tooling. You need to ensure that all work carried out is of good quality and meets the needs of both design and production in its functionality. The Tool Maker will also be required to assist in the continuous improvement of tooling by means of experience and knowledge gained from the history of past problems and tool repairs. The Tool Maker must ensure that all work schedules and work completed are done in order to satisfy customer demands whilst enabling the delivery of high-quality components.

This role requires someone who enjoys working with people and is self-motivated with a friendly and flexible approach.  Previous experience of working in a toolroom environment, with the ability to read engineering drawings and the use of typical toolroom equipment is essential.
