General Office Administrator

We are looking for an experienced General Office Administrator to join the team.
You will be assisting in Purchasing and Accounts with general admin duties, manning the phones in the main office and offering general assistance to other Managers and Directors as required.

A good knowledge of accounts and or purchasing is essential to this role as is experience of working in a busy office environment. Having worked in a manufacturing company is desirable but not essential as full training will be given.

The main duties will include:

  • Registering and matching supplier invoices
  • Distribution of the post
  • Sending out sales invoices
  • Ordering lunches
  • Controlling the stationery stock
  • Ordering of the company workwear and maintaining workwear records
  • Call handling
  • Providing cover for Goods In as required
  • Credit control
  • Any other adhoc duties that may be required

The successful applicant will have a structured and organised approach to their work displaying a good level of confidence, preferably numerically minded, be prepared to undertake any adhoc tasks, within reasonable scope of the job as requested by anyone in the office. This is a very busy environment and it is essential that you can work under pressure whilst maintaining accurate records as per company policies and current legislation.

Press Tool Maker

We are looking to recruit a toolmaker for our busy tool room to repair and modify tooling and to assist in the continuous improvement of tooling by means of experience and knowledge. Toolmaking in presswork with an apprenticeship would be preferred.

The ideal candidate should be able to work under their own initiative and have the ability to solve day to day tooling issues and be able to work to tight deadlines.

Knowledge of working in a similar environment is essential for this role as is being a good team player

The main duties will be:

  • Manufacturing jigs, fixtures, and new tools
  • Repair and planned preventative maintenance on existing tools
  • Carry out tool repairs to multistage progression tools and second operation tools and fixtures
  • Modify tooling to improve production
  • To assist in the continuous improvement ideas for making tooling more reliable
  • To assist in the training of apprentices and trainees as required

Knowledge and experience on process improvements within manufacturing is required incorporating lean work and 5S on production lines.

QC Manager

We are looking for a Quality Manager with relevant experience within an engineering, manufacturing environment to lead our quality team. The main purpose of this role will be to manage the quality process throughout the company by ensuring that production quality is defined and maintained by implementing a robust quality control process. 

You will need to:

  • have a strong personality with the ability to lead and influence others
  • have significant quality, engineering and management experience
  • have exceptional organisational skills
  • have the ability to facilitate change
  • have an analytical, methodical problem-solving approach
  • be able to read and understand engineering drawings
  • be able to competently use all metrology equipment

Key accountabilities for this role are :

  • to review all products as part of the design process for potential quality issues
  • to be responsible for DFMEA, control plans and process flow charts
  • to analyse customer feedback and monitor return dates
  • working with project leaders to discuss solutions to quality issues
  • comply with ISO accreditation requirements
  • investigate causes of quality problems and proposing solutions to quality issues
  • to report on design, pre-production and production to check on the quality status of the product at all stages of production
  • to ensure all QC staff receive necessary training
  • to carry out staff appraisals
  • to control all measuring equipment and ensure continued adherence to standards through regular calibration
  • focus on root cause identification and rectification
  • 8D reporting
