Office Assistant

H V Wooding requires an Office Assistant with a good knowledge of accounts or purchasing or someone with practical experience in a busy office department. Experience of working in a manufacturing company is desirable but not essential.

List of duties include registering and matching supplier invoices, dealing with the post for the company, sending out sales invoices, ordering lunches and stationery as well as controlling the stationery stock and adhoc support to other departments such as accounts, purchasing, sales and systems administration. This may include, for example, collating supplier invoices for the BACS run, reconciling supplier statements and sending out customer statements.

The successful applicant should be structured and organised, preferably numerically minded, be prepared to undertake any adhoc tasks, within reasonable scope of the job, as requested by anyone in the office. This is a very busy environment and it is essential that they can work under pressure whilst maintaining accurate records as per company policies and current legislation.

The company will consider applicants looking for part time work 30 hours per week or more. We will pay a pro-rata salary for this. The Salary for this position will be dependent on experience. The candidate can also elect to join the company pension scheme.

Press Tool Maker

We are looking to recruit a toolmaker for our busy tool room to repair and modify tooling and to assist in the continuous improvement of tooling by means of experience and knowledge. Toolmaking in presswork with an apprenticeship would be preferred.

The ideal candidate should be able to work under their own initiative and have the ability to solve day to day tooling issues and be able to work to tight deadlines.

Knowledge of working in a similar environment is essential for this role as is being a good team player

The main duties will be:

  • Manufacturing jigs, fixtures, and new tools
  • Repair and planned preventative maintenance on existing tools
  • Carry out tool repairs to multistage progression tools and second operation tools and fixtures
  • Modify tooling to improve production
  • To assist in the continuous improvement ideas for making tooling more reliable
  • To assist in the training of apprentices and trainees as required

Knowledge and experience on process improvements within manufacturing is required incorporating lean work and 5’s on production lines.
