Our Continued Effort To Support Renewable Energy

Written by HV Wooding on 20th July 2015

Here at HV Wooding we try to ensure we take care of not only the environment directly around us but the bigger picture also. We have recently installed a FURTHER 100 solar panels on our ‘Rainbow ‘site on June the 8th 2015.

The 100 solar panels were fitted by Solar studios and were solely funded by HV Wooding Limited. This now means we have 430 solar panels extended over our two facilities in Range road Kent.

These solar panels will provide us with the ability for us to claim 100% enhanced capital allowances as energy saving initiatives, which means we can offset the full cost of them against our corporation tax liability for the year ending 2015-2016. For the last quarter (January-April) our solar panels produced an incredible 15,0254 kWhr which actually makes up 17.29% of our total gas and electricity used over both facilities on Range road. The new solar panels on top of the Rainbow facility increased our total bringing in 2,927 kWhr in June and we were able to increase our reliance on renewable energy to 23.85% of our total usage.

Our efforts with solar panels are also linked with our current standards ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and OHSAS 18001 accreditation, which we have developed into our own unique Buffer Management System to enhance manufacturing performance and delivery. Although we have an integrated management system, our drive to be GREEN relates to ISO 14001. This standard is related to environmental management that will help us minimize how our operations and processes negatively affect the environment (i.e. cause adverse changes to air, water, or land) helping us comply with applicable laws, regulations, and other environmentally oriented requirements.

Are you doing enough in your business to be GREEN?
