Engineering Estimator

We are currently looking to recruit an Estimator to prepare quotations in accordance with our current profit margin policy to ensure that all quotations are realistically priced according to client specifications, this will involve working to tight deadlines to meet customer expectations.

This role will require someone with excellent numerical and organisational skills together with a high level of commercial acumen and would suit someone with experience in tool making /manufacturing wishing to further their career within an established and successful company. You will need to have a good knowledge of IT based working and be proficient in Excel spreadsheets.

A background in presswork, tool making/ tool design, Laser Cutting, would be an advantage to your application. Possessing a technical qualification or mechanical apprenticeship would be beneficial, as would experience of the estimating process for mechanical components.

Press Tool Maker

We are looking to recruit a toolmaker for our busy tool room to repair and modify tooling and to assist in the continuous improvement of tooling by means of experience and knowledge. Toolmaking in presswork with an apprenticeship would be preferred.

The ideal candidate should be able to work under their own initiative and have the ability to solve day to day tooling issues and be able to work to tight deadlines.

Knowledge of working in a similar environment is essential for this role as is being a good team player

The main duties will be:

  • Manufacturing jigs, fixtures, and new tools
  • Repair and planned preventative maintenance on existing tools
  • Carry out tool repairs to multistage progression tools and second operation tools and fixtures
  • Modify tooling to improve production
  • To assist in the continuous improvement ideas for making tooling more reliable
  • To assist in the training of apprentices and trainees as required

Knowledge and experience on process improvements within manufacturing is required incorporating lean work and 5’s on production lines.

QC Inspector

We are looking to recruit a QC Inspector. This is a varied role covering all areas within production. Training will be provided. The main duties will include –

  • ensuring that components produced are of the best quality, correct to customer specification
  • to verify dimensions
  • to check that parts have been manufactured as per customer requirements
  • to check first offs that setter/operator require second checking
  • goods inwards inspection of material received from suppliers
  • inspect components before they are sent to customer
  • record non conforming products
  • create plans to improve product quality
  • to identify causes for non conformance and recommend actions at NCR meetings
  • to assist with the calibration of company equipment as required

You will need to –

  • be able to read engineering drawings
  • use a range of specialist measuring equipment
  • have a good understanding of maths
  • have good attention to detail and good organisational skills
