Estimator / Costing Engineer

We have a vacancy for an Estimator/ Costing Engineer. You will be required to prepare quotations for a variety of customers ensuring that all quotations are priced according to client specifications, this will involve working to tight deadlines to meet customer expectations.

Working closely with the Sales Department you will need to have excellent numerical and organisational skills together with a high level of commercial acumen. You will be a strong communicator with some experience in negotiation/customer communication with a proactive approach.

This role would suit someone with a good level of experience in Engineering or Manufacturing environment with a firm knowledge of tool making /manufacturing wishing to further their career within an established and successful company. You will need to have a good knowledge of IT and be proficient in Excel spreadsheets.

A background in presswork, tool making/ tool design, Laser Cutting, would be an advantage to your application. Possessing a technical qualification or mechanical apprenticeship would also be beneficial, as would experience of the estimating process for mechanical components.

Forming Operator

We have a vacancy for a Forming operative. This is a newly created role within the company.

The main duties will include:

  • To ensure that the work is fulfilled as per the schedule
  • Problem solving ability
  • To address any tooling or component issues with the Team Leader
  • To ensure that the production rates are kept to a satisfactory level
  • To keep process sheets up to date
  • To be responsible for the control of drawings and quality schedules that you use
  • To control the quality of your work

This is an active role focused on ensuring that work runs through the forming machines effectively and efficiently. You will need to have a good problem solving ability and be able to handle a varied workload. Experience of using measuring equipment and the ability to read engineering drawings is essential as are excellent maths skills.

Initially you will be required to work the day shift of 8/5 Monday to Thursday and 8/1 on Fridays but potentially going onto a rotating shift of 6/2 and 2/10 once training has been completed.

Press Tool Maker

We are looking to recruit a toolmaker for our busy tool room to repair and modify tooling and to assist in the continuous improvement of tooling by means of experience and knowledge. Toolmaking in presswork with an apprenticeship would be preferred.

The ideal candidate should be able to work under their own initiative and have the ability to solve day to day tooling issues and be able to work to tight deadlines.

Knowledge of working in a similar environment is essential for this role as is being a good team player

The main duties will be:

  • Manufacturing jigs, fixtures, and new tools
  • Repair and planned preventative maintenance on existing tools
  • Carry out tool repairs to multistage progression tools and second operation tools and fixtures
  • Modify tooling to improve production
  • To assist in the continuous improvement ideas for making tooling more reliable
  • To assist in the training of apprentices and trainees as required

Knowledge and experience on process improvements within manufacturing is required incorporating lean work and 5’s on production lines.

Trainee Process and Planning Engineer

We have a vacancy for a Trainee Process and Planning Engineer. This is an exciting opportunity and a newly created role within the company. The main duties will include:

  • Planning new parts as they come into the company
  • Creating models and geometry files for CNC Programming using Solidworks
  • ssisting with CNC Programming as required.

A very detailed and methodical approach to work is required for this position as is a high degree of accuracy. The ability to read engineering drawings is essential as are excellent Maths skills.

Full training however will be given on all aspects of this role as required. Once the successful applicant has gained a good degree of knowledge in the programming of the above, the role may well develop into other areas of assisting the Technical Team.

The hours required for this position will be Monday the Thursday 8am to 5:30pm and Fridays 8am to 2pm.
