Estimator / Costing Engineer

We have a vacancy for an Estimator/ Costing Engineer. You will be required to prepare quotations for a variety of customers ensuring that all quotations are priced according to client specifications, this will involve working to tight deadlines to meet customer expectations.

Working closely with the Sales Department you will need to have excellent numerical and organisational skills together with a high level of commercial acumen. You will be a strong communicator with some experience in negotiation/customer communication with a proactive approach.

This role would suit someone with a good level of experience in Engineering or Manufacturing environment with a firm knowledge of tool making /manufacturing wishing to further their career within an established and successful company. You will need to have a good knowledge of IT and be proficient in Excel spreadsheets.

A background in presswork, tool making/ tool design, Laser Cutting, would be an advantage to your application. Possessing a technical qualification or mechanical apprenticeship would also be beneficial, as would experience of the estimating process for mechanical components.

Experienced Admin Support for Accounts and Purchasing

We have a vacancy for a part time experienced Admin Support person to assist in both our Accounts and Purchasing departments. The main duties will include:

  • Ensuring an accurate Purchase Ledger is maintained by registering and matching all purchase invoices, preparing BACS runs and reconciling supplier statements
  • Maintain an accurate Sales Ledger by ensuring invoices are sent out each day and customer statements are sent each month
  • Assisting the Finance Manager with credit control
  • Collecting the daily post and distributing to the relevant staff
  • Controlling the Accounts email inbox
  • General administrative duties for both Accounts and Purchasing

For this position, you will need to be numerate with excellent communication and organisational skills. You should be highly competent in both Word and Excel, be proactive and have the ability to prioritise.

The hours required for this position will be 30 hours per week but We can be flexible on this.

Press Tool Maker

We are looking to recruit a toolmaker for our busy tool room to repair and modify tooling and to assist in the continuous improvement of tooling by means of experience and knowledge. Toolmaking in presswork with an apprenticeship would be preferred.

The ideal candidate should be able to work under their own initiative and have the ability to solve day to day tooling issues and be able to work to tight deadlines.

Knowledge of working in a similar environment is essential for this role as is being a good team player

The main duties will be:

  • Manufacturing jigs, fixtures, and new tools
  • Repair and planned preventative maintenance on existing tools
  • Carry out tool repairs to multistage progression tools and second operation tools and fixtures
  • Modify tooling to improve production
  • To assist in the continuous improvement ideas for making tooling more reliable
  • To assist in the training of apprentices and trainees as required

Knowledge and experience on process improvements within manufacturing is required incorporating lean work and 5’s on production lines.

Sales and Marketing Co-Ordinator

We have an exciting vacancy for an experienced Sales and Marketing Co-Ordinator. The purpose of this role is to provide full admin support to our Sales Department.

The main focus will be on enquiry management, following the process through to completion which will involve -

  • Receiving an enquiry into the business
  • Working with the Estimating Team to provide  commercially viable quotes
  • Tracking the Estimators progress against an agreed timescale regarding quote preparation
  • Following up with customer to aid in gaining the business

You will to be a strong communicator with some experience in negotiation with a proactive approach as decision making is key to the success of this role.

You will also be required to carry out prospecting to aid the department in lead generation. You will be responsible for updating our website and producing company newsletters as well as keeping up to date in such areas as Linked In.

You will need to have a high level or PC Skills focussing on Word and Excel.

Previous experience of working in an Engineering or Manufacturing environment would be desirable but not essential.
